International Conference on Advancements in Computing was successfully conducted for 4 consecutive years. The last three ICAC conferences provided platforms to present 80+ papers each from both local and international authors. These papers were presented under numerous tracks such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Data Analytics, Distributed Systems, Information, and Cyber Security, Information systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer networks and data communication, Internet of Things, Robotics & intelligent systems, and Soft Computing. IEEE Sri Lankan section provided technical sponsorship for the conferences and more than 100 participants participated in the event.
The 3rd International Conference on Advancements in Computing -2021 (ICAC2021), was held virtually from the 9th to 11th of December 2021 as an open forum for academics along with industry professionals to present the latest findings and research output and practical deployments in the Computer Science and Information Technology domains. The primary objective of the ICAC is to uplift the research culture and the quality of research done by Sri Lankan researchers.
Prof. Elizabeth Ann Broadbent from the Department of Psychological Medicine, University of Auckland, and Prof. William Wong from Middlesex University, London were keynote speakers of ICAC 2021 while Mr. Anura De Alwis – Chief digital economy officer of ICTA, Mr. Arjuna Nanayakkara – Head of Shared Services Centre of LSEG, Dr. Upendra Pieris- Chief executive officer of OREL IT PVT LTD joined hands with the conference as Industry experts to discuss “Value of innovation and invention for Sri Lanka IT/BPM industry ”. Three workshops were held which are titled”Artificial Intelligence Research in Practice”, “Cattle vs. Pets: The adoption of Kubernetes in Enterprise” and “Reinforcement Learning – A Premier”.
82 local and international researchers presented and published their research work in IEEE Xplore at the end of the successful virtual conference.
