  • Quantitative Cyber Risk Analysis

Waters Edge Waters Edge, Battaramulla, Western Province, Sri Lanka

With the increase in Cyber Threats around the Globe, it is important for organizations to determine the inherent threat levels, gaps in mitigating controls and where and how much should be invested in improving the Cyber Security Posture. Therefore, this workshop will cover methods and tools that can be used to quantify Cyber Risk faced by an organisation using open source data and telemetry from controls deployed.

  • 5th International Conference on Advancements in Computing 2023

Waters Edge Waters Edge, Battaramulla, Western Province, Sri Lanka

The International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC) is organized by the Faculty of Computing of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) as an open forum for academics along with industry professionals to present the latest findings and research output and practical deployments in the Computer Science and Information Technology domains. All four ICAC conferences held from 2019 to 2022 were successfully conducted with a technical co-sponsorship by IEEE Sri Lanka.

The primary objective of the ICAC is to uplift the research culture and the quality of research done especially by Sri Lankan researchers. This conference creates a platform for national and international researchers to showcase their research output, network, and initiate collaborative work. In addition, this year’s conference is especially focused on how research in the field of computer science and information technology could strengthen economic sustainability in both local and global contexts.

  • Internet of Things for Everyday Life

Waters Edge Waters Edge, Battaramulla, Western Province, Sri Lanka

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept where all things - including everyday physical objects - become programmable and connected, enabling machine-to-machine and machine-to-human interactions. With billions of devices already connected to the Internet, IoT is affecting multiple aspects of society. In this workshop, we will describe and demonstrate how individuals can improve their daily lives using commonly available and low-cost IoT components and services.

  • Understanding the Context Extraction in NLP

Waters Edge Waters Edge, Battaramulla, Western Province, Sri Lanka

Natural Language Processing (NLP) has become a frequent topic of discussion in Data Science. In industry, we come across massive amounts of text data that needs to be properly analyzed using NLP techniques to fulfil certain business requirements. Feature extraction is one of the most important steps in NLP by which the context of words/tokens can be extracted. In this workshop we investigate the ability to extract context from text data in different embedding approaches including simple bag of word-based techniques as well as dense neural network-based techniques.
